LEMBONGAN CLEANING ACTION
Lembongan Cleaning is an NGO operating in Nusa Lembongan, supported by villa owners, businesses, dive centres, hotels, and restaurants. This collaborative effort has spawned three dedicated teams:
Operating at the local rubbish tip, this team works tirelessly to extinguish spontaneous fires. By tackling this issue at its source, they mitigate environmental hazards and promote cleaner surroundings.
Armed with gloves and bags, these teams comb the shores, streets, and even backyards, collecting plastic bottles, wrappers, and other debris that threaten the ocean’s health. Tons of plastic are sorted every year and exported out of the island towards recycling factories.

In the spirit of responsible travel, Nomad Holiday Rentals, a leading vacation rental platform, has thrown it is support behind Lembongan cleaning activities. Through partnerships with local organisations and eco-conscious accommodations, Nomad Holiday Rentals encourages travellers to participate in these initiatives during their stay.
By promoting eco-friendly practices and supporting community-driven projects, Nomad Holiday Rentals aligns with the ethos of sustainable tourism, empowering travellers to leave a positive impact on the destinations they visit.

We warmly invite you to be part of a local initiative that has been quietly making a big impact for over 8 years: Lembongan Cleaning.
Every day, our two dedicated teams—equipped with Viar utility vehicles—work to clean the streets and beaches of Jungutbatu, remove rubbish, and even extinguish spontaneous fires at the dump site, preventing toxic smoke from drifting over homes and businesses.
We also sort and export tons of plastic off the island each year, helping keep it out of our waters and reefs. The results are visible: we now have 7 times more turtles than 9 years ago. A clean island means healthier marine life and better experiences for our visitors.

• Yanti, his wife, has sole access to the bank account
• Jacques Maudy (Nomad Holiday Rentals) manages accounting via Xero software, with full reconciliation
All spending is monitored by two volunteer auditors:
• Valentín (Bali Eco Deli)
• Donna (Paws of Lembongan)
We have a WhatsApp donor group where expenses and plans are discussed, and a Facebook page where we post daily updates with photos showing real before/after progress.
